Romeo Hayes played his 339th game yesterday becoming the joint second most capped Red Hawks player of all time. Joint with long retired midfielder Floyd Mallet (retired in March 2017 - 7 years ago, back in season 42). Romeo Hayes is now just 10 games away from surpassing Jez Dixon to becoming the club's all time capped player. "He's agreed to sign on with us for at least another season and despite turning 39 next season, he will prove to be an invaluable player for us in guiding the next generation. It's funny to think that he would have been in the youth set up watching on, possibly as a ball boy whilst Sir Mallet was on the field playing out his final season with us. The world moves fast and keeps on spinning. It's amazing I'm still here too after 35 seasons.. I must be approaching 80 years old!"
