Irresistible transfer market temptations |
Virginia Plain was booked for violent conduct within the first minute of White Swans match against Janes Addiction, and only three matches into the season this tough cookie has been suspended from the next round. The way Virginia is looking at her manager Tony Brazil right now, she could be up for GBH before the evening is over.
"Girls, girls, girls," Brazil addresses his squad trying to calm things down, but his outdated way of speaking only inflames the situation.
"Boss, are the rumours true that you have been browsing the transfer market? Are you not happy with what you've got?" Virginia is spokeswoman for the youngsters, having come from the youth academy she has her heart in the club. The veterans keep their peace as they have already seen the close-season cull and survived it.
"I blame the manager known as MyShady," deflects Brazil, "he let it be known he was selling one of his youth academy finds, and that she was the hard training kind. Hard training is something our new Swans recruits should be doing more of, from what we've seen on the field so far this season."
Virginia bristles.
"You will all be pleased to know I failed in signing her, however other players did come to light during my pursuit," Brazil pauses, "I love you all but admit there were some irresistible transfer temptations thrust at me in my journey through the market.
"I hope you all still love me when I say I resisted all temptations and bid for no one," Brazil cross his fingers behind his back, "because I realised the best players are already here in the White Swans squad. Together one day we will all bond then look back on this day and laugh."
Virginia punches Brazil in the mouth anyway with a threat that he should keep his eyes on his team and can the can.
