"Midfielder blameless" says Hammerfisted
The manager of Thanington Harriers today refused to blame midfield veteran Tomi Roivainen for scoring an unfortunate own goal this week.

The goal, the third for the home side Tenterden Badgers, put the game beyond the Harriers condemning them to a second defeat of the season.

"It's not his fault at all," Hammerfisted explained with sympathy, "there was no danger on so the header back was appropriate action for that situation. These things happen sometimes and he's got the experience to get over this error."

Asked if Harriers would survive this season the manager said this:
"I've no idea! We've obviously punched above our weight for a while in terms of results, whether our luck has run out or this is just a blip remains to be seen. We'll just keep trying to win and develop a team that can compete at the highest level."
