Excellent, excellent and excellent! |
The Fifth Column had a splendid season in division 4 and this sees the Five Points promoted and return to division 3.
Finishing second was an excellent achievement for a young team that is only halfway of fulfilling their full potential. The team only fell two points short of becoming champion and kudos go to UC Sampdoria for that.
Also excellent was the Change Report which was sent to the team's favorite vacation address, the island Alcatraz where the water cocktails prove to be tastier then ever and the 2x2 rooms now even have pillows on the beds. Manager Woodstock was all smiles seeing the pages dripping with dark blue ink. More ink than last 6 seasons as no less then 19.8 strength bars are added to the players on their collective birthday party.
"I am absolutely thrilled with the promotion and development of the team. The players and staff worked really hard. And now we are back to division 3 and seeing how things are going we will aim to try to reach the highest echelons of the Powerleague."
Also excellent were the personal achievements of captain Willy Borowski, who for many seasons also happens to be the club's best player, as he became goalscorer of the team and was presented another beautiful silver player of the year award.
Striker Melli has not gotten as strong as he could have in his 13 seasons, yet the player proved to be a true force for the team. Every game he was at his best. Almost every week he got elected for the X11-team-of-the-week. So, with great honor he was given the much deserved golden player of the year award.
The Fifth Column is awaiting a hopefully fun and exciting season in division 3. The league consists of some very strong teams and has some awesome players who will bring their best game to the pitch. In the midst of this we have the Five Points club, still one of the youngest, who will first aim for a midtable position and a good cup run in their hunt for more glory.
The Fifth Column has a bit shortage of funds. Well, a big shortage in fact and more so as the team has a big squad. Because of this the board, and especially financial manager Jenny Everdeane, urged manager Woodstock to put some of his beloved players on the transfer market.
"I really do not want to sell anyone and none of the players want to leave the club they love and cherish. Yet we have no other option if we want to continue our climb and keep doing well both short as long-term. So if anyone is interested we have some of the most talented players in the whole Powerleague on offer. If you are willing to add some super players to your team, make us an offer we can not refuse :)"
