Elf
Division 5:22, Pro League
Manager: BonerVain
A rough day
The expectations were sky-high in the Elf camp last morning. Not only because of the quarter-final match against one of the strongest cup teams in the Pro League, the Children of Ygritte. It was also the transfer deadline for one of our young super prospects, Derrick "Dick" Beasley, a 16/4 with sky-high dv's and nice sq's. How high would the price rise? 15? 20?

The match against the Children turned out to be one for the history books, like every other battle between these two teams. Two years ago, Elf lost against them in one of the most epic cup finals ever: http://www.xperteleven.com/cupGameDetails.aspx?GameID=2543552&dh=1

Epic mostly because of Igreja's insane transformation, 5 minutes into the game, from average midfielder to world class goalie. Seeing him always make the Elves a little nervous. And once again the Children managed to shock the Elves. Atherton was sent off with a direct red card after a dispute with, of course, Igreja. After this, Elf had a hard time getting back into play and were lucky to manage a 1-1 draw after 120 intense minutes. Children's manager Bromis made a bold move early on by taking off the magnificent Igreja, and Elf manager BonerVain was all juiced up on the sideline. At least until it was captain Finnigans turn from the penalty mark. His 18 skill bars seems to be reduced to 3 when it comes down to penalty kicks. Like usual, he missed by a mile.

So that was it for the Elves. The Children moves on in what turned out to be a pretty crazy cup round in Pro League. Huge favorite Gumuk-Gumuk failed, once again, despite dominating. Merseyside Red's goalie played his worst game ever while EL CORDOBES won their match with only 7 men and 3 children available.

To crown this special day: "Dick" was sold for a ridiculously low 5.9mill.
And of course he made the jump: he's now a 16/5 midfielder with goal instinct. 5.9.
