Part 2 | The AntiChrists wins XCL

Playing XCL finals is really bad for your heart I've noticed. I've always been of the opinion that it's better to lose early than losing late - rather go out in the group stage than fall short in a final. Rather get humiliated with 4-0 than losing on penalties and so on. And on one single game, anything can happen, even if you ace tactics - there are never any guarantees. This makes Xperteleven quite energy draining at times, knowing that even if you're doing everything right - it might still not be enough.

Fortunately, that was not the case in this XCL edition. At least not for The AntiChrists. I did many things right tactically throughout the competition, but that didn't always show on the results - at least not to the same extent as I wanted. But The AntiChrists consistently came through at the end. Stepped up when it mattered the most. I aced tactics against Sherwyn at home in the semi's and still had to endure the penalty shootout, but we won - and that is what matters. And almost the exact thing happened in the final against Svajo. It took 107 minutes until Paulo Cassiano could score the winning 2-1 goal after a total of 7-1 chances. It could and should have been more comfortably, but it's alright - because we won, and that is what matters.

I was generally much calmer in this XCL though than the last time. I didn't feel I had any pressure on me, I could be laid-back about it and enjoy the ride in a way I couldn't before. I was still nervous though. The aim has been to surpass Nobego/Shadows/Motorroger's three XCL wins - and you don't get endless amount of chances. At least not during one peak period. It's still a long way to go though, especially with such strong competition around, and at the moment I'm quite pleased with having won the competition at least two times and now having a total of four Hall of Fame awards. 10 months ago I had zero HOF awards.

I'll be enjoying a break from XCL now. Reload the batteries. Then we'll see if The AntiChrists can repeat what KBM Whitsunday did - winning 3 XCL's on 3 attempts. Will The AntiChrists rise from the depths of hell once again?
