Steam's six shooters
In a showdown fit for the Wild West, the Darlington Steam came chuggin' through town like a runaway locomotive and left Poly Lasi tied to the tracks - metaphorically, of course - after a 6-0 dust-blasting.

Under the blazing sun of matchday high noon, the Steam fired on all cylinders. Ronaldo De Cunha led the charge with a brace that had the crowd hollerin' like cowboys at a saloon showdown. He was joined on the scoresheet by Anshus, Droste, McGuinness, and a helpful own goal from a rattled Lasi defender who clearly couldn't handle the heat.

With that barnstormin' victory, Darlington now sit second in the league - right on the tail of those table-toppin' varmints FC Riftbreakers. But before the big top-of-the-table duel, Steam must deal with another battle: the second leg of the cup tie against Khatulistiwa. The first leg ended 1-1, so it's still all to play for as the Steam prepare to roll into that station with bell ringing and pistons pumping.

Sheriff of Steam, Dazzler1703, stood tall on the touchline, cowboy boots metaphorically polished and hat tipped low:

"The boys were like six-shooters out there today. Quick draw, precise, and lethal. We didn't just beat 'em, we ran 'em clean outta town. Every lad did his bit - it was a proper show of frontier football."

On the strong start to the season:

"Look, this train's left the station now and we ain't stoppin'. We've got coal in the fire and steel in the boots. The lads are gellin' faster than a barber's chair on Derby Day."

And on the challenges ahead:

"Riftbreakers are top, but that just makes 'em a bigger target. And Khatulistiwa? Tough crew, but we ain't afraid of long tracks and tight corners. We'll take it one junction at a time. But make no mistake - Steam's comin', and we ain't coastin'."
