Bellshill Battlers
Division 2a, Power League
Manager: Playtheyoof
Cup semi finalists but 3rd tier survival
After a long press hiatus, Bellshill manager Playtheyoof has finally spoken to the media following a very strange season for the Battlers.

Bellshill were only able to secure their Division 2 status on the final day of the season but managed to reach the semi final of the Power League cup, being knocked out by eventual winners and Power League double winners Apocalypse United. A 2-0 defeat after captain Kendrick Horsfield was taken off with a serious injury after just 3 minutes was by no means a humiliation, particularly given that their manager is ranked 5th in the world and his team are currently unbeaten in the XCL and into the semi-finals.

This rollercoaster of a season has raised some concerns in the mind of long-standing manager Playtheyoof.

'This will be my 11th full season with this group of players, I've grown fond of the boys I've developed, some have been with me since the start from teenagers. I'm worried though that we have begun to hit our ceiling. We've been shown what the level is that we want to achieve and I'm not sure this group are capable of that. It may now be the time for us to cash in while these lads still hold some value and look to rebuild."

When Playtheyoof took over his team were languishing in the bottom tier of the Power League with an aging squad with no real prospects of achieving much. It would be sad to see this group of players disbanded with only a cup semi-final to show for it.

Fans of Bellshill will be anxious to see whether their long-standing manager decides to sell up and go again or jump ship to an already established team.
