This week, we closed an open cut we had from last season.
We were able to qualify from our Xpert Champions League group in second place, with a goal scored at the 89th minute to secure us a win over the third placed. This is massive for us, since last season we had done a campaign to be remembered in the league (12 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat) but ended up 4th in our XCL group.
At that moment, we blamed our bad luck with the injuries and suspensions, but there were always doubts if something could have been different anyways. Well, apparently now we can be sure of the answer.
With a worse squad this year, we confirmed our capacity to "talk the talk and walk the walk". And, once again, doing all this with an entire squad from the youth academy.
With these last results, I got the number 1 spot in my national rank, something that I'm proud of having achieved after so, so many civil years. And all was done the hardest way, and no credit can be taken away from me. But now, I'm looking for the best possible worldwide. It might take some time, but it can surely be improved.
But, and that is a big "but", we lost again to a team fighting to avoid relegation, for the championship. It's unbelievable how our performance degredates when facing them, and specially when the opponent didn't get anything right tactics-wise.
I would trade what was mentioned before by a win in this previous match. Now, 4 points away from the leadership with 4 matches to go, it will be hard to defend our two titles in a row. Let's see what the future holds, but we have no expectations of happiness by the end of the campaign.
We knew this season (most likely) would be a breaker in our streak, but when you are so competitive and so "used to" win...you simply cannot turn off the competitor in you and accept that written faith.
