St.Hallvards IF
Final League, Final League
Manager: Mosmoa
Gold and glory for the "Pride of Oslo"
St. Hallvards won their first official title yesterday when the 2nd division team - Team Yobogoya was beaten 2-1 in overtime in the Final League Cup final. It was the Swedes who opened the match by far the best with a goal by Kendrick Entwhistle on a shot that our goalkeeper Smedjevik couldn't save, in the 52 minute.

After that, "The Pride of Oslo" took over more and more on the pitch, and it was fully deserved when Rolf Allberg headed in the equalizing goal after 83 minutes. The match  ended 1-1 and the stage was set for extra time. Substitute Marius Rath was the big player of the match when he headed in the winning goal 2 minutes into the first extra half.

With a superior 12-6 in the chance statistics, St.Hallvards IF deservedly won, and could lift the Final League Cup trophy for the first time in the club's history, and is now ready for the next season's Champions League.

The season has been absolutely fantastic for the Norwegian team, who already last Friday secured a place in the Final League next season. Now manager Mr. Mosmoa announces that new young boys are intended for a place in the squad next season, as it will be essential to have a slightly larger squad considering that the club will play in as many as 3 tournaments.

The manager announced after the game that the cup triumph ensured players such as Smedjevik, Berntsen, Fjukmoen and Allberg will stay for another season. Selbu and Solberg are totally dependent on good skill development if they are to continue. The club would prefer not to buy new players, but rather, as usual, invest in its own talents from the youth academy.

Unfortunately, the manager does not see opportunities to do well in the Champions League. The main focus will of course be the games in the Final League and Final League Cup. The club's existence is based on the development of its own produced players, and will never buy itself into success. It is also stipulated by statute that all incoming players are not older than 20 years.

The Halvard Courier congratulates St. Hallvards on their success and wishes the team the best of luck with the European Cup next season.
