| Dark Victory seal Xpert League title! |
As the final whistle blows, manager, Wrighty celebrates with his coaching staff while Victory players gather in the centre of the pitch to celebrate a breathtaking end to the season. Dark Victory ran out 3-0 winners over a very good Asdrubal Onfire team with two goals from Leo Hassell and another from Nat Corpe. The result means that Dark Victory win the Xpert League title for the first time in their history.
With three games to go, the title could have been anybody's, with just two points separating first and fifth. Dark Victory managed to stay strong following their disappointment of losing in the XL Cup semi finals to win their final few matches, under massive pressure from Jaes.
"What a performance from the lads!" commented Wrighty. "Not only tonight, but for the whole season. To do what we've done after being promoted from division one last term is incredible! We have a great group of players who are close as a group and that's stood us in good stead, especially at the end of the season.
"Many of our players were playing at a very different level to what we've played this season, and it just shows their desire to improve and be the best. Many of them are still quite young and will get even better, which will only benefit us when playing in the XL Champions League next season."
The title success for Dark Victory has sparked massive celebrations with fans having a special tribute to Leo Hassell, who scored an incredible nineteen goals in twenty six games this season. Once the dust has settled and everybody has had time to reflect, this will be a very important day in the history of this great club.
