Division 1b champions!
Borgis FC have been crowned Division 1b champions with two rounds left to play of season 66. Last week's 3-1 victory at home against Thekop FC opened an eight-point gap between first and second place meaning Borgis can't be caught. The win confirms an incredible FOURTH straight divisional title for Borgis, who will now move into the top flight for only the second time in their history.

We spoke to manager Adam Moran yesterday to get his thoughts.

"I am over the moon! I joked last week about results falling our way and they did exactly that. But we also put in the work ourselves and delivered another best performance and proved ourselves to be worthy winners.

"Going into this season on the back of three tremendous winning campaigns, I really believed that nobody could stop us. I then sold a striker and goalkeeper, brought in two replacements and we lost the opening two games, which is more defeats than we had in the whole of the previous two seasons! I was shocked and worried that we'd completely destroyed our best ever chance. But the lads have fought back and completely earned this title. We have remained unbeaten since the poor start, winning games when not playing particularly well and finishing with a flourish. It now means I can try a few things out in these last two games and hopefully get everybody over the line in their development.

"And then we go again in our second attempt at the top division. Back in season 54, we finished second in Division 1b and won promotion via the play-offs. We all knew by that stage the team wasn't strong enough and a complete rebuild was due. But we went up and didn't embarrass ourselves before starting the rebuild which has lead to today. But we will come to that next season. For now, I just want to enjoy another division title success!"
