A numbers game
In every essence for the Fifth Column this and next few seasons are basically a numbers game. And it proves a fine line to manage it well, but things are going exceptionally well so far.
"We have the long term vision of now after over 10 years residing in the Power league to actually make it to the top 2% instead of the top 10%. And this is a huge challenge because we are obviously not the only ones. Plenty have similar dreams. And many have tried and many have failed doing so.

"We are still very happy with the way we have put together the fundamental structure and basic outline of our squad. Our core philosophy of a conveyor is till very present only it should end up even better than before. We deliberately chose a bigger squad size for this phase and it's going perfect. The DVs are manageable to a degree which is very satisfying. All players will end up on average form or higher.

"Average form comes with relentless training and the players show discipline although it is very hard work. The other side is the ever ongoing stream of econs leaving the bank. Our sponsors do not provide us with near enough to make it whole. Our profits have to be made up by our real financial assets and so we were happy to sell one of them last week for over 8 million. Next few months are funded and it will support the excessive silly season costs and keep our new and improved youth department 'Butcher's Graveyard' afloat."

So all in all the numbers are going strong for the Five Points club and even the fans, who are more accustomed to winning on the pitch are even not taking the stadium and manager apart. Which is rare as in Hells Kitchen you would get stabbed for even less offense.

A handful of games remain. Next up is old foe Fulgerul and this will be another 90 minutes of fine tuning the development of an excellent looking future outfit.
