India's manager Sayan was supposed to face the press last monday, but later on his assistant notified that the boss "will speak on Sunday night, before Prairie Oysters match", and this time the manager did keep his promise, and here is the full transcript of what happened in that press conference.
On the sudden absence:
"Well, I don't know, I felt it was the best option to keep my mouth shut and not say anything, as the club was surrounded by so much negativity, it was starting to affect me as well."
So why the sudden comeback?
"Well, the sabbatical was too long, around a month or so, my assistant also felt too much pressure, club administration felt the pressure, fans and players did too, so my message got to them, mission accomplished, hence I am back."
Reason behind such poor form?
"I don't know, I have done everything right, I mean, I tried my best, but somehow we ended up drawing, isn't there a stat only bottom placed two teams have won less number of matches than us and only MTS and us are yet to taste defeat in the league, so yeah, it has been that kind of season."
What's next?
"I don't know, I really don't. I can assure you the players are working hard in the training, at least it seems so, but I don't know what's missing. So how can I fix a problem which I am unaware of?"
Any message to the fans?
"Nothing really, just be patient I guess?"
Manager exits following a phone call.
So that was a useless presser, with India's problem growing regarding the promotion battle, they face Prairie Oysters next. A win is a must for India at the moment, but they seem adamant of not winning.
