Whatever happened to the scoring boots |
Edisco stood on the touchline baffled. The game was against division leaders, FC Liverpool at Anfield Road.
His Perilous Knights side have emerged from the dressing room after the half-time team talk with cutlasses, figuratively speaking, they hassled their more illustrious opponents with a swashbuckling possession football that belied their tender years. Yet again, a theme that has prevailed throughout the season still held sway, the team couldn't find the back of the net and were undone by their more efficient opponents.
Edisco hasn't found himself and his team in a very desirable situation with a staggering zero goals in eight league games reducing his side to the foot of the table. The question is: What is the cause of Knights' scoring woes? Is there a cure?
Apparently, Edisco has been looking for answers and that have moved him to call up a 55yo legendary forward, Cappi Tommasi who is the club's all-time topscorer, to talk to his team.
"I called Cappi up a couple of days ago", Edisco addressed a group of keen journalist.
"This is a man who is greatly adored in the club and city, he was a very proficient goalscorer in his time. We needed him to help us address the young players and instill confidence in them since he commands a lot of influence and knows a lot about scoring goals".
The next game will be against SNK VK at Bermuda Triangle and hopefully the visit of a player who always had a knack for scoring goals will have brought back the goalscoring boots of Perilous Knighs' ailing frontmen.
