Enough is enough
I really would like this press release could reach the X11 management crew.
I play this game for almost 15 years, I'm a top manager (my achievements speak by themselves) and I really, despite all the non-sense I've seen around (and it was a lot), enjoy the game. There is too much time invested to lie about it. But I've seen the community decreasing, and everybody knows why: the engine.
I don't see the point of launching new stuff but neglecting the obvious, what really needs extensive improvement.
This game should be about who does it better, not about rules in the algorithm to force one team to be champion or to be relegated, or to impose defeats or wins based on initial momentum of the season. If that was meant to emulate real life scenarios, that would happen once every 15/20 seasons like Leicester (champions in 2016) or Leeds (relegated in 2004). That should be the exception, not the rule.
What can't happen is to have a manager that sees its team creating 2x, 3x, 5x more chances and having more ball possession than their opponents, and still cannot be able to win a match. How can a team be in relegation zone having by far more matches in these conditions than the other way around?
This is the same team that won 3 Xpert League titles in a row and qualified twice from its group stage in the XCL. And then, in their way to the 4th, one draw and since then only defeats for the reminder of the campaign, extending the "bad luck" to the current one.
Is it to avoid monopolies? To ensure balance? I don't know. But to force it where in real life it doesn't happen, doesn't seem right.
In one private league of mine, same conditions. A team that is always top 4 (has been champion, runners-up, 3rd and 4th, not in this sequence particularly) has now 13 matches in a row without a win (4 draws, 9 defeats). Last season I was 4th. Good squad, great starting eleven, no problems with form or funds. It's there just because the engine targeted it to be relegated. Top bottom was the 3rd last season. It seems the thunder stroke the same place two times.
The X11 should be upgraded as soon as possible. Not on visuals, AI's or those "small" nice-to-have's. If you want to keep the good players in and to bring some more around, that is the only way to go.
"It's easier to be said than done". Not really. I'm a software engineer myself, so I know the level of complexity for these kind of output/outcome cannot be high. For sure there is room for large improvement, I wonder why it is taking so long for someone to do something about it.
I'm sure many, many managers would back me up on this one.
But since this is just a rant for the Xpert League top division audience or for the managers that follow me, it will stay the same, for sure, a while longer...
