Defeat in the first game
FC Plonge got relegated two seasons ago, and last season we were hoping for a quick bounce back to division 5. After completing an almost perfect season that goal was achieved.
This season, we are looking to establish ourselves in division 5 and to recruit youngster to fill the ranks for future seasons.
For the first game of the season the manager opted for a cautious, defensive, approach. We leaned to the veterans of the squad hoping for at least one point.
The defensive 5-4-1 formation seemed to have worked as we held Club Tropicana to zero chances up until overtime. There, they scored after a corner kick. Unfortunate? Yes. Unfair? Not at all.
Club Tropicana deserved the win after racking up 61% possession although having difficulties scoring. One point would have felt better for us, but after this late loss we are still proud of our defensive qualities.
On to the next one.
