Middling start
FK Radnik Roystjina kicked off Season 71 in pretty average fashion - not good, not bad, just middling. This was the local assessment of a standard 5-0 win in the Cup, and a 1-1 draw in the league. The Cup game was always expected to be straightforward as Radnik's Round 1 opponents, Parrots, are a managerless bottom tier side. Radnik's goals came from Andrija Cavric, Zivorad Cosovic, Urby Soesoe, Laurentiu Petrariu and Srecko Gajevic, the first four coming before half-time and Gajevic's effort a couple of minutes after the restart, at which point Radnik checked out for the day. The big goal was the last as Gajevic was making his senior debut. Radnik's strike in their league draw against AFC Kinels came from a player at the opposite end of his career as Jeremija Ristovic, who recently announced his upcoming retirement, started his final season with last-gasp equaliser. Getting a draw from the game was a little against the run-of-play for Roystjina as Kinels had out-shot the home side 5-4 (5-3 prior to Ristovic's effort) and held 52% possession. However, as Radnik boss Janik remarked "The boys hung in there, kept it close, and when that late chance came it went to a cool cucumber in Jerzy. He has been there, done that, and got all the fridge magnets. The perfect player to get that opportunity. We intend to enjoy his final season as much as possible - he'll play plenty as he is still a very handy performer."
