Top of the world
"I'm on top of the world, looking down on creation and the only explanation I can find," croaks White Swans manager Tony Brazil, "is the love that I've found ever since you've been around, your love's put me at the top of the world."
"The Carpenters' Top Of The World? There's nothing like a good song," sneers Swans midfielder Virginia Plain, "and that's nothing like a good song."
"Don't be such a grumblepants Ginny," trills Brazil, "enjoy the moment. We're top of the division, top of the world, looking down on creation! And forget the Carpenter's version, Shonen Knife have the only version that matters. Glam Punk and all that."
It's been bedlam at the Blitz Ballroom since the Swans' 2-1 victory over Single Ladies earlier today, the win taking Swans to the top of division 2c. Brazil finds the Knife single version on youtube and manages to get it blasting through the stadium tannoy. An Uber Drink truck arrives and starts unloading refreshments.
A long, noisy night ahead is on the cards.
