Strong Start
With a seventh straight win across both circuits of play, Cassiopeia has clinched advancement to the fourth round of the Xpert Ladies Cup for the fifth straight year with a 3-0 aggregate win over Deerfield Durocs.
This complements a 4-0-1 start to league play, which has put them in first place in Division 4n with two matches to go until midseason.
Key to their success has been a balanced attack on offense, with eight different players having scored in league play--and only Alana Duff having scored twice. And on the other end, keeper Abrianna Boselli has been a brick wall, rejecting a career-best 86% of chances.
"It's a team game," said Boselli. "The defenders basically do my job for me, all I have to do is clean up anything that gets past them."
Defender Anneli Keskitalo added, "We made a deal. She can take all the credit, but she also has to buy postgame drinks."
Fellow defender Stefania Sakellaropoulos added, "It really isn't a fair deal, but Boss is a good sport about it."
With team chemistry at a high, the Cassies will continue league play at home against Académica P Lobito on Tuesday.
