Ruins
Gmswjambo's PA, Mrs Trellis of North Wales, recently had a rare Teams conversation with her nephew, who for the past few years has been on an archaeological expedition around Asia Minor. She relayed their discussion to her good friend Agnes, their conversation going something like this:
Trellis: He's been in and out of Jordan a lot recently. Agnes: Who hasn't? She's broke and likes to lead a lavish lifestyle and, being something of an artefact herself - yesterday's news - what else is she going to do for dosh? Trellis: Come again? Agnes: That's what she said, I imagine. Trellis: I'm talking about my nephew, Alex, who's been working on a dig in the country, Jordan, not Pater Andre's cast-off Agnes: Oh, of course, how silly of me. Trellis: Anyway, to tell you the truth, it sounds like he'll be jetting back here sooner rather than later. He's having a terrible time of it - bitchiness among the team, a slave-driver of a boss, and missing his friends and family. Agnes: Poor lad. Still, what can you expect? Trellis: What do you mean by that? Agnes: Well, tell me an archaelogist whose life isn't in ruins?
As for C.A. Lisieux PA, this team will be in ruins before long unless things pick up. The season opener at A.R.C. Fonte dos Alhos was a massive disappointment: a 3-1 defeat with several players struggling to get their performance levels up where they should be. Thankfully we had a gimme in the cup so the youngsters could all get a good run-out shie some others put in extra training. Fizzy Cola Bottles at ours will not be easy but we're hoping for higher ratings at the very least.
