It rerally does depend what you like. Rakim is all about his technical rapping which is flawless, rather than the beats for example. That dirt chamber sessions is most ace, you must listen to it twice then make judgement. ninja tunes do some nice stuff but it's quite acquired taste, examples here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m48M6mijPH8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=InkbEjNPFD8 |

Well to start off with I suggest you listen to the progidy, "the dirtchamber sessions. Well it's not really by them just liam, but it has many of the great hip hop (amongst others) cuts on there. If you listen to that you can get a feel of what genre you like.
Personally I really like dr dre chronic, ready to die by biggie, best of gangstaa, most things by ultramagnetic mcs, most things by rakim, 36 chambers by wu tang, paul's boutique beastie boys |

you cant play along. thats what i tried. no no. they ask for 20 squids up front, then 5 squids for every subsequent meeting, whilst you continuously undergo personality tests and listen to who you're disfunctional. not really my cup of tea. |
