Barsk, as soon i saw the Fwd played above his skill, i knew he had at least one of Moody or Greedy, tho i suspected the latter tbh. Oh, & up til a couple of hours before kick off, i was preparing for 442, & was using 451, but changed almost everything (had Through Plays set too), including which Mf's would start. Using 352 wasnt even in my thinking til i changed to it, so if you had prepared for that the result would likely have been different, & id have been gutted.

Yeah Shadows i did, & had some good fortune along the way too, which is vital in achieving success. I recently noticed you had won this comp for 3 seasons in a row a while back. Thats incredible. Prob the most belated congrats you will have for that feat, but congrats anyway :)
Thobbin, no disrespect to Barsk's team, but when they went through against your side it filled me with more hope of winning the comp than i had until then. I couldnt see past your great team winning the Final had you made it there. Im confident that your team will win the XCL with the current crop of players, prob even next season.

Really?! That would seriously shock me, as his squad is better than my own! Btw mate, you mentioned above about English HoF, but you also enter it if you win the Ladies. Surely an English manager has won that League before?

As soon as I saw the draw for the play-offs I thought that the Round of 16 and QF on our side were basically finals. Thanks btw. :)

Nope, an Englishman has never won the Xpert Ladies before. We've had English speaking managers in Glacier and Sipu but they're from Canada and Signapore respectively. Before yesterday, GRASSBANDITS was the only ever person from England to get in the HoF.

Im having second thoughts on the rebuild, im not in the xcl next season but im leaning towards having one last crack at the xcl after that if i can win league or cup this time

No XCL next season, i was sure you would have, but even still, i think your side could still win the XCL. Splashing some cash on a decent high skill, but younger player would defo help if you have it to spare, but even without that its doable, as long as you dont suffer with retirements. Be gutting to reach the latter stages of the comp again, only for 2-3 important players to retire after the CR. If i were you, id bring in some retirement decoys to try & help prevent that, if indeed you do change your mind about a rebuild.

Throbbin, you sound like you have as much money as i do :D Yes, if you have any chance at lifting the XCL, you got to give it a shot, & as i said, you've as much chance as winning it as anyone. Good luck!

Completely happy bar the reserve keeper. With the games i had in the season run in, i just couldnt give him any more game time (except the last League match, but not enough still) without seriously jeopardising important results, & as a consequence he ended on just 15DV & didnt gain a visible. I was going to sell him too, but now will have to give him some games first, tho not too many, as he only needs 11DV in order to be an under eval according to the calc. His EV went up by around 8m tho lol. All the players who might have went up visibly, did (even the 17/4 Fwd DJ'd), so overall i cant complain too much about the Gk. Can field a 451 now with all players at least 18 skill :)
Regards the Retirement decoys. I only had 2-3 players who could have realistically handed in their notice this time, so wasnt the best example tbf, but the older the high skilled players are, the more important having them is imo.

Oh, since retirement decoys (RD's from now on, typed that too many times already lol) will take a few seasons before they retire, its important to buy them 2-3 seasons before they would be of best use. Ive also experimented a little with trying to make RD's have a higher chance of retiring, but tho what ive done has resulted positively, i havent done it enough times yet as to determine whether its actually just a coincidence.

Most top teams dont seem to care about even having a reserve keeper let alone how their CR goes so that sounds like a good CR!
Yeah i hear you with the RDs, il get some in and hope they end their days fast.

Only anectodal but i believe i spotted over the seasons that if iv tried to sell an older player and failed to do so they tend to hand in notice, but it could have been coincidence too
