SBK take action |
Sigtuna BK take action against bad goalkeeping. The internal investigation regarding a bribed goalkeeper within the club has not led anywhere, no proof has been found. Though the standard of goalkeeping has never been lower - at a time it should be the highest.
- We can't have a goalkeeper that performs under their skill in almost every game despite great form.
It was a misunfortunate and forced transfer to begin with. In the historic penalty shootout between Sigtuna BK and King Clancy's XI that ended with 17-16 to Sigtuna, home goalkeeper Filipe Gaio got a severe injury which left him out for a month. Sigtuna needed a new goalkeeper and they needed it within three days.
Rori Hunt, a then 30 year old goalie with 14 in skill was bought for 5m econs, with excellent compatibility. Unfortunately it has really never been an excellent match. On the position were you want the most stability, the instability has never been higher and only in this season it has probably cost the club 6-8 points in the league.
We have looked for a new goalkeeper since the end of last season, but have found nothing on the market. But now we are very glad to finally have found a new first goalkeeper in Lucas Sköld. Sigtuna pay FC Coruscant 9.5m econs for the 30 year old goalkeeper, skilled 17.
- Lucas has a very good injury history, almost non exsistent, which is something we looked at. Only seven days in his career he has been injured. He has at the best played in Division 2 Xtreme League, so playing in the highest division will be new for him. But he has really good potential and with a few matches in his hands we think we can get him to perform really well and make an instant impact on the team performance.
Hopefully it's not too late to either save a good league-season or a good cup performance. He will make his Sigtuna-debut in the cup game on Thursday versus IK Nederlaget.
