Infrontcat Upbeat Despite Kairat Cock-up |
Infrontcat could not hide his disappointment as KP's unbeaten run came to an end on Thursday. However, it was more the nature of the defeat that disappointed him with Kairat securing a first leg victory thanks to an 86th minute winner.
KP were unbeaten in 18 league and cup matches dating back to their 5th round cup exit at the hands of Cavalieri. Ironically, on that occasion it was late heartbreak too with KP losing in the 120th minute in extra time 3-2. This time around it was a much more cagey affair, neither side managing to gain an upper hand and so it was bitterly disappointing that they should concede at a set price so near the end; Kiriakov heading home from Rawlinson's deflected corner kick.
"You could say we didn't get the luck with the deflection," said Infrontcat, "but you have to anticipate things sometimes and we just switched off for a few seconds, whereas their fella reacted quick and got his reward."
This setback came after they secured a comfortable away win at Shrek's Eleven at the weekend, which coincidentally made it 18 league games without defeat only two of which were draws. Having stumbled at their 19th game unbeaten, they will hope that their league record will not suffer a similar fate in their crunch game against Plan B on Sunday.
