Good Away Win for Minnows
On Friday, we traveled to play 'Biriense FC' in Round 8 of the season. Having disappointingly drawn with our opponents at home, the previous week I was unsure how these game wood go? I choose a cautious playing style combined with a standard 4-4-2 formation and hoped this would do the job this week.

The first half was fairly even in terms of possession with both sides having periods of dominance. However, we did eventually take the lead in the 32nd minute with a lobbed header from Adolf Nissenbach following a cross by Carmindo Dias. Unfortunately, we weren't able to extend our lead and so at half time, we still led by just a single goal.

We started off the second half really strongly and had a good chance on 56 minutes from a Dennis Surmann header to extend our lead further. It wasn't to be and so in the 60th minute, we made our first change with Andry Ehrlich making way for Claus-Dieter Holzwarth upfront. Our dominance was rewarded eventually with a second goal on 64 minutes with Günther Schirmer scoring with a header from a cross by Gerd Tiemann. This sparked a brief response from the home side and so we made a defensive change with Adolf Nissenbach coming off to be replaced by Markus Wiener with six minutes left.

The win sees us remain in 2nd just one point ahead of 'Liverpool F.C.' in 3rd as we enter the second half of the season.
