Newton up for the Cup!
Newton Heath LYR FC progressed to the next round of the Cup, following a 1-1 draw against FC Malaga this morning. The Home side had already won away at Malaga 2-0, in the first leg, so went through 3-1 on aggregate.
The home draw was a dour affair without much action, apart from the away side taking the lead on 13 minutes, followed by Newton getting a penalty early in the second half to earn the draw.
The Green and Yellows Manager droned, 'We go through but were not really at the races. The injury to our regular centre forwards, Ben Doone and Phil McAverty has really affected our strikes on goal'.
Heath return to League action next time around with a visit to Hove Seagulls. The rags Manager said, 'It's a real six pointer, with the winner staying in touch with the Division leaders and the losers facing a relegation battle'.
