Three is the magic number! |
Kelly's Angels made it three League Of Champs titles in a row yesterday, finally clinching the trophy with a hard fought 1-0 away win against Karl-Zorro.
The Angels always looked in control to claim their third consecutive championship, but had to make sure on the final day as a couple of draws in the run-in made it that bit closer. Three points separating them from their main rivals and a better goal difference proved enough, though, to send their supporters into raptures, and the celebrations could well and truly begin.
We caught up with the ecstatic manager at the final whistle and this is what he had to say, " words can not describe how I'm feeling right now, The lads have been fantastic!, I could not ask for anymore from them, The supporters played their part as well, eEspecially today when we went down to ten men. They acted like the extra man, it's like we still had eleven players on the pitch! The fans are amazing!"
He added, "to win one league title was a great achievement! To then defend the crown was amazing! But to then go on and claim a third! I'm just speechless and lost for words! This is very emotional for me, the club have been so supportive since day one when I arrived as manager. They agreed to change the club's name after the sudden loss of my sister, I'm just so pleased that I have been able to give something back to the club and to honour my sister at the same time! Three league titles on the spin and to win the XCL isn't bad is it!!!"
Well there you have it! Kelly's Angels claim their third League Of Champs title to continue their dominance! Can they make it a fourth next campaign? On their current form you could not rule it out! The Angels will now have a few days off and then it's back to action again, as they look to turnaround a 1-0 deficit in the last 16 of the XCL!
