Viking ease past Coimbra to go back top
Viking North Utsire eased past rudderless Coimbra FC for the second week in succession to complete a fortunately easy 6-point doubleheader in Division 1a last Monday. Johan Kvalvik set up Haakon Austrheim twice to take his assists tally for the campaign to date to a personal-best 9, while Haakon's 94th and 95th goals in Utsiran colours leapfrogged him ahead of their recently-retired longtime midfield colleague Toralf Austrheim to 4th on the club's all-time top scorers - at the age of just 31 and at a much better strike rate than most of the Top 10.
With Cardiff Dragons and Premier Cutogno fighting out an action-packed 1-1 draw, Viking were able to nudge back ahead of the Dragons by a point at the head of the table. They must now make the tricky trip to 4th-placed Cutogno themselves, however, who implausibly are one of two teams in the division (along with My-Tee Athletic) to have a 1-6-1 record so far. VNU fans will be painfully aware that the 1 in their wins column comes from the reverse fixture that Viking boss VelvetAndroid missed.
