Dronfield beat Spaceboys on their ground

Dronfield travelled to 'Ibrox' to play the 'Spacecowboys'.  It was difficult to know what to do against a team so close to us in the league.  I chose go with a defensive playing style and a five-man midfield in the hope I could keep the opposition quiet enough to allow us to score at the other end.   'Spacecowboys' made the better start to the game and dominated the opening ten minutes, but after that we came back into the game.  In the 20th minute we took the lead with Günther Schirmer scoring with a shot from a corner by Maximilian Thon.  After taking the lead our opponents made a definite push to get the equaliser, but we withstood the onslaught to still lead at halftime 1 -0.   'Spacecowboys' made a great start to the second half including a couple of efforts on the away goal.  Siegfried Buck put the brakes on the 'Spacecowboys' comeback with a lovely long-range strike on 60 minutes with an assist going to Günther Schirmer for his involvement in the build-up.  Our first change came in the 62nd minute with André Hahne making way for Helmuth Knaus. With ten minutes to go, we made our second change with Dietmar Bausch being substituted by Joachim Ortmann up front.  Our last change came on 87 minutes with Pepe Zuca coming off to be replaced by Markus Wiener.   The result was welcome, we remain in 4th behind 'Spacecowboys' but now only on goal difference as we reach the halfway point of the season.   Wenger442
