Torpedo Pollok came through their 5th round cup tie on Monday with a winner in extra time beating Viggbyholms IK, the side they faced at the end of last season to qualify for division 1. However their star keeper was ruled out of the cup tie having been stretchered off in the previous league match. With no reserve keeper the club were forced to draft in a back up goalie at short notice from the transfer market.
"Our defence played a blinder, we managed to protect our new keeper by stopping the opposition from having any chances in the match. It was a tough call whether to shell out for a reserve keeper as we have a couple of all rounders in the squad who could have filled in, however we felt it was better to bring someone in as our number 1.
"Richard McWill is probably going to be ruled out of the next couple of matches. We have a tough game coming up against Romanian Power followed by back to back games in the league and cup against Pink Panda FC, who are the only team to beat us in the last 15 matches. This signing is proof to our fans that we're doing our best for the club in all competitions!"
