Safety assured |
This has been a tough season, I thought at the start of the season that maybe we had been promoted above our means and ability and so it has proved. The Saucers have stuggled all season and we have been in the relegation places for most of it, but today we got our act together and pulled out a performance when we needed it, away to Tottenham 74 who were in second place at the start of play and looking to go up. The three points have seen us safe in Division 1 for another season and Saucers manager Paddysh was effusive in his praise for the squad.... "Today was the best performance of the season from the squad, we have struggled all campaign, we have worked hard, but the results weren't coming. The Cup run was average at best and that left us to concentrate on avoiding relegation, which ultimately proved to e blessing. Tottenham are a good side, better than us anyway on all given form, but we dug in well and produced a first half performance worthy of Division 1 status, for the first time this season. To do it when it mattered was very pleasing". It means that the Saucers now have effectively a free week, where we can take a free swing and play anyome who needs a game for DV purposes, knowing that all is well for a while.
