Mansell not on pole for friendly |
Dion Mansell is ready to put protracted negotiations behind him and achieve "special things" at Camberwick Greens after joining today.
The 19-year-old, who spent last season with Snue Gliffers Utd, has put pen to paper on a five-year contract.
Greens confirmed the two clubs had agreed a transfer fee of almost 48,000 econ for the central defender, whose contractual issues with the club had been a contributory factor in delaying the deal.
"I am feeling very good, I am happy to be here and ready to fight for my place," Mansell told Greens' official website.
"I experienced the Pro League 1a last season and I understand it better now, so hopefully with the help of my team-mates I will be a better player this season.
"I just want to get back out on the field, give 100 per cent and help my team-mates to achieve special things on the pitch.
"It's been one year of negotiations, but finally we are there now and all three parties are happy with the solution."
Mansell may have to wait a little longer for his first appearance of the season, however.
Greens' boss Hugh Jambo, relieved to have completed his second summer signing, told a press conference on Friday morning that Dion Mansell was not expected to feature in Monday's friendly fixture at Los Gatilleros.
In other news, youth signing Windy Miller will be available for selection.
