Gotham escaping the relegation-zone

During Monday evening, Gotham City Sirens signed with manager Bjarneteg after unconvincing performances since the sacking of previous manager on the 20th of May.

Bjarneteg is a manager who recently came back to coaching after a few years of absence, he just finished up his first season with Sick and Tired in the Golden League where he took over a relegation battling side a few games into the season and just missed out on the qualifications on the final day of the season. After his success in the male league he felt the urge to try managing a team in the Xpert Ladies as well.

There was plenty of different teams in need of a manager but his choice fell on Gotham City. Gotham, unlike most other team Bjarneteg has previously been in charge of, has a pretty well developed squad. The players are of good age and able to compete at a high level while still having the splash of youth to secure future high level players.

While the manager's usual teams consist of a base of experienced players and a large portion of young talent ready for development, this will for sure be a completely new challenge for him.

During the running campaign Bjarneteg has decided to stick with the player material that he has inherited from the previous manager but is looking to make some changes for next season.

It wouldn't last long til Bjarneteg had to show off his capabilities and just the day after signing he led Gotham to a 2-1 away win against bottom-of-the-table SG Münster Ladies. The win was the least convincing out of the four games that was played on the day, with the others ending with at least a 2 goal difference and all of them having the home team win.

Despite the game being close, Bjarneteg was awarded the manegerial spot in the X11.

We are hoping to see further success for Bjarneteg and the ladies, next week's game is played at home against Papperhavna who are residing in the qualification spot.
