"Life is not about how well you start, but how consistent you can be after. Starting well matters a lot, but the end justifies the means."
Arshaofficial, in an autobiography, wrote the quote written above. 'The Phenomenal One,' as the fans fondly call him has been quite amused at how the season has turned out for his dear Colorado:
"Last season, we started so well. We went the first 4 games unbeaten amassing 7pts in the process. As at the 10th game we were still sitting comfortably atop the division table. Then disaster struck. A series of injuries and suspensions followed and, by the end of round 12, Colorado had sunk to the foot of the division table. Promotion was a distant memory, but relegation was also as impossible as promotion itself. Then the last two games were just that of 'what might had been'."
Still shocked by the inability of the team to gain promotion, the team board were demoralized; all friendly requests were rejected as the club chairman pondered a possible Arsha sacking. No training was done in the off season, as no fund was released. In a bit to acquire his own funds while waiting for the 'brown envelope ', Arsha showed club legend and captain Benedito Amparo the exit door. It left a huge vacuum in both the midfield and the dressing room.
Not able to find adequate replacement, the board gave Arsha a one season extension with a goal of avoiding relegation. Marred by these internal problems, the club's fans came to the first game with banners reading, "NO ONE CARES ABOUT THE FANS". The first game ended as everyone expected, a home loss to Bekas FC. No passion, no commitment and no desire to win, as the Colorado players strolled round the Winnow Haven for 92 mins.
In an attempt to save a sinking ship, the board ordered the sale of Euginio Pacifico to raise funds for form training. The 2nd game followed the same trend as the first, with banners reading, "ARSHA OUT", and "BRING BACK OUR AMPARO" flying at the away section of Sirens FC Malta.
A cup win against a division 6 side followed, and it was a welcome relief to finally register a win. Then the next league game saw players come back with good form training, and Hoover scored twice to give Colorado their first league win.
Now, after 8 rounds of games, Colorado are back sitting top of the table where they belong. Arsha was right:
"THE SWIFT DOES NOT ALWAYS WIN THE RACE NOR THE MIGHTY MAN THE BATTLE."
