XCL footprints
Until the path has ended we try not to analyse too much our performances, and yesterday our path in the XCL came to an end for this cycle.- so we shall share our thoughts and reflections.

Sometimes it has been written that we are an uber team. Although we truly appreciate such comments we feel that is widely off the mark, being many skill bars short in first team starting line up. What we do describe ourselves as being is, a very strong team with a decent chance at success for the next few seasons.

That being so and it being our debut season and given the pro league's history in the competition, I can share with you today that I did not expect our team to get out of the group stages.

However, we had a terrific group stage competition and throughout the knock out stages played our true style which brought about excellent results and we found ourselves in the semi final against the most successful manager ever, without even really thinking about it, it just happened.

I would like to say at this point that over the two legs, chrille absolutely deserved the victory and I would like to congratulate him on this.

But to reflect on our own performance - the first leg I have to admit, we were completely intimidated and played with fear, which is the opposite of our usual style. We tried not to lose and didn't try to win. As such we were beaten at home against such a great manager it was a fatal error.

For the second leg we were in a much better frame of mind, and what Duffster said to me sprang to mind, have no regrets, and what I IWE used to say, do it in your own style.... So I went with what my heart said and not my head, and even though it may be seen as crazy playing 352 normal away against the best manager I knew it was our style and would give us the best chance to win and we did nearly pull off the unthinkable.

Sure we toyed with marking the playmaker they chose and maybe it may have made a slight difference but overall for the second leg I am delighted.

There were some harsh lessons learned though which you get from such an experience. We knew they had a change report shortly before the second leg, and Instead of fully taking advantage of this, we continued in our hypnotic press the form button sleep and as such did not optimally time our form trainings to maximise our advantage.

Overall despite our self reflection, we are proud and delighted to have reached the semi finals of the XCL.

We would like to congratulate Chrille once again for beating us and reaching the final, and we would like to super congratulate Seven, for his amazing performances and reaching the final. We hope you can bring the trophy to the pro league for the first ever time. We will be cheering for you my friend.
