Scandal at FC Oborishte |
Former league leaders, FC Oborishte lost their first game this season in away match against Woothy FC.
What was really shocking was that their manager did not showed up for the trip and the team had to deal without their manager against the 3rd placed team in the league. The players said they had not heard anything from their manager since last training, day before the match.
What emerged later after their lost, was that their manager was drinking through the whole night in a local pub the night before and was not capable to travel with the players. Still, no confirmation form the club itself about this situation, but it is believed that the board have already talked with the coach and it is very likely that he will be sacked as these rumours give the club bad reputation.
Most of FC Oborishte players did not want to speak about the occurred events, but one of the longest-serving player in the club,Zenko Fukunaka, stayed behind his manager:
"You can not always believe in everything that media is writing, they always go for the most scandalous things, our manager did a lot for the club and we are fighting for a promotion this year, we should give him the praise."
The defender also added:
"I remember about 10 years ago, when I was playing in lower divisions and had a lot of energy, I was smashing the pubs untill 4am and then being sharp for a game at 9.30am, now it is different, I am not so young and I am more concentrated on training and matches as I am playing for bigger club with higher expectations."
FC Oborishte are currently 2nd, 1 point behind the leaders and 3 above the 3rd one, the team which cause them their first lost of the season.
There is nothing clear about the situation and there is still a question who will be in charge of the team for their next game, which could be the game of the season and the most important one, as they are playing away against their direct rival for promotion battle and league leaders - Plainwell Trojans SC.
