The FC Barnstone manager this morning stated his side's perfect 100% start to the season was more down to opposition failures than his team's efforts. Seventeen goals in four victories sees Barnstone sit at the top of division 5:19 and they have also hit fourteen goals with no reply in just three cup games. Greyhound was asked if his side deserved to be top of the division;
"Of course they do, we have more points than second place. The players have trained hard over the close season and were raring to go from the off. We have pace, strength, guile and hunger all over the pitch. However the bigger picture is we have ten games to go and looking at the table at this moment, the four teams we have played occupy the four bottom places.
"We can not get carried away just because, Blunderlandia possibly aside, we have beaten the four weakest teams in the division. Hopefully with confidence brimming we can battle the bigger teams for promotion but we have a lot of hard work to do before that."
Barnstone face a tough seven games in the league next and, with being expected to progress in the cup, could be in for a tricky test in the next round. With the squad down to sixteen players and two more currently transfer listed, the workload could take it's toll on a relatively young side.
