'When we started the rebuild and were relegated in season 29 - two seasons after winning our first and only title - I knew it was going to be a long hard struggle to return. Following a couple of seasons in the second tier I knew that if we didn't manage it this season then we were fast approaching the unthinkable - another rebuild without peaking in the top flight. "Defensive talisman and club captain Rene Chartier is entering the twilight of his career and the average age of the squad is pushing up towards the realm of it affecting our performance, so it really was absolutely essential we gained that elusive promotion this season. It was a rush and a huge relief to see that The Czars - a quality side needing a win to mathematically ensure safety - did the business for us and beat our fellow title rivals, Puma Junior. 'It is not lost on me that the fact our fate was not in our own hands was down to the acumen of their gaffer Alonso1, and the phenomenal season they've had was only let down by an agonizing run-in. They look to have had some bad luck combined with meeting sides with something to play for at the time of the season when many teams do not. We've had our fair share of bad luck in the last 9 long, hard seasons as we've battled our way back to the top so I can accept this stroke of luck with pleasure. "The top flight looks intimidating, and it is obviously going to be a struggle to stay up never mind challenge the dominance of the big 2 up there. Shady Rebels and Censurados are two mighty squads with canny bosses that can match anything any other official league can offer, and we look forward to crossing swords with them. "The lads are well into the champagne by now and a few of them look like they might need a long lie-in tomorrow, so I'll sign off by thanking my rival managers for a thoroughly enjoyable season with genuine sympathy and regards to Alonso1 and his Puma Junior for the amazing fight that went to the final match!"
