CFC Gun Crime played their last three-game week this season due to exiting the cup, but wins in the XCL and league made it a good week despite that.
"The cup game against Hammertime was a classic, it had it all. Our starting line-up for the game had a few youngsters in it so one all at half time wasn't that bad. After 56 minutes the first youngster was subbed off only for Hammertime to score their second goal soon after. 65 minutes saw young midfielder Magnum subbed off then on 75 minutes young defender Colt was subbed off. That seemed to do the trick with Behremi scoring the equaliser with two minutes of normal time left!
"That wasn't the end of the drama though because on 105 minutes Tammertime's Mãlai was sent off and with only two minutes of extra time left they had a goal disallowed!! So to the penalty shootout..... the first eight penalties found the back of the net then Hammertime's Green missed. Up stepped Gun Crime's Enfield to win the match but he missed!!!
"Another five penalties were slotted home only for Gun Crime's Barradas to miss his penalty, so the lads were out!!!!
"All thoughts now turn to the crunch XCL game at home to Homer, both teams were locked together on four points in second and third place so a win would put Gun Crime in the driving seat with only one game left to play after that.
"The match didn't start well and at half time Gun Crime were one nil down, and that's with two goals disallowed - one for each side. The lads didn't give up though and with half an hour left to play Walther equalised; with quarter of an hour left Aprodu made it two one. That's how it stayed, with Homer getting a player sent off before the end of the match.
"The league game the next day was away at the Gunners, for a chance to put relegation at arms length and stay in touch at the top another win was needed. As things panned out it became clear the lads had the upper hand in this match, and the three nil half time score proved this.
"A goal by each side in the second half saw the lads run out four one winners and close the gap to next week's opponents the Hoards to two points...."
