Red Devils Welcome New Manager

The Red Devils Of York welcomed new manager Mr Shephunter with an easy 5-0 win in the 1st leg of their 2nd round of the Final League Cup with Real Vergel.  It was nothing more than a training run against the managerless side but it gave the new gaff a chance to run his eye of the talent at his disposal. Led by a hattrick from young talisman Olvier Heim the Devils cruised to victory.  However with the lack of form and fitness in the players legs they ran out of gas in the 2nd half.  That will be something Mr Shephunter will need to work on in the coming weeks to get this side up and moving.  Following the game Mr Shephunter introduced himself to the press.  "Firstly I'd like to say that it's great to be at the Devils and look forward to taking charge of these talented individuals.  For those that don't know me, I have come from the Switch City Kings in the Xpert League.  There I took the side from Division 5 to the top flight in 7 seasons.  After winning the Xpert League Cup 2 seasons ago I took them through to the Round of 16 in the XCL last season.  So I feel I have the credentials to guide these lads beyond Division 3." "As could be expected when a team has been neglected for some time, the players are carrying a few extra kilos and are in desperate need of some skill work.  However once we get that into them, I don't see why we can't put some fine performances together.This is certainly a talented bunch!"
