CFC Gun Crime Crowned Champions
CFC Gun Crime won their last match of the season at former champions Atletico de Madrid club and are therefore crowned Power League Champions for season 31, “After just avoiding relegation last season with a ‘park the bus’ formation away at MM United this season has been a revelation.”

“An early cup exit to another Madrid club, Real Madrid Stars, could well have been a big influence as the second half of the season the lads just had to concentrate on the league. With one match a week anyone who needed it had a full training session under their belts before the next game.”

“As for the game at Atletico the lads were a tad lucky in the fact that even though Atletico won at the Meat Cleavers last week they were still relegated. A manager has to look after his club above all others and while they didn't put out a full youth squad there were more youngsters playing for Athletico than CFCGC. Though it wasn't until the 84th minute that the lads got a buffer of two goals going on to win three nil.”

“As well as the early cup exit another defining moment was the mid season double wins over last season’s double winners Wasted Years and former Power League champions Celtic Hoardes F.C. Each of the four matches was won by a single goal and they all had to be tactically astute with three out of the four culminating in a manager of the round award.”

“After Nesa’s Lions round 11 win against the Meat Cleavers the stats told us that taking six points from the next two matches would clinch the title. The next game’s four two home win against the Meat Cleavers took the lads half way there but then a one all draw at home to the Lions meant the title decider had to wait until the last game of the season....

“So now thoughts turn to next season and a first excursion into the Xpert Champions League. Two stalwarts of CFCGC won’t be playing though as both Kai Luger and Charles Browning retire at the end of the season. They have a total of 562 games to their credit and a combined total of 166 goals and 83 assists, that said they only played 8 games between them this season so shouldn’t be missed that much. Though what we do need is another midfielder, will the youth academy deliver, we’ll find out on Monday."

“If the lads can do half as well as the Wasted Years and MM United have done in the XCL this season we’ll be happy and perhaps a good cup run to boot but that’ll be a tall order with four matches a week come mid season.”
